A musical bomb by Rob Life from the U.K
Rob Life
You can catch him spinning tunes on 1btn.fm on the Rarekind records radio show, every 3rd Tuesday, monthly at 9pm-12pm gmt.
DJ (Funk For The Folks/Rarekind Records Radio Show/Vinyl Veterans and previously Brekin Bread) spinning – funky sounds and grooves… Funk, Soul, B-Boy Breaks, Latin, Hip Hop. Psych, Jazz, Afro beat and more
They are many rock funk psychedelic mixes out there. But this one is the icing on the cake. Rob has an incredible musical background. This mix got everything for a hot saturday night. The Faces, Savoy Brown or Vivian Stanshall.
Stanshall could be notoriously erratic and difficult to work with, he was involved in a number of collaborations with such artists as Robert Calvert, Eric Clapton, Keith Moon and Steve Winwood. He also created two solo albums notable for their varied musical styles and lyrics full of his perennial loves of rhyming slang, absurdist puns and tongue-twisters.
My personal favourite is “Let me down easy” by Liquid Smoke from Long Island, that consisted of Sandy Pantaleo (lead vocals), Vince Fersak (guitar), Ben Ninnman (keyboards), Mike Archuleta (bass), and Chas Kimbrell (drums). A beauty of all beauties…
Thanks Rob for having giving me a good time dancing in my kitchen and rockin’ my air guitar.
