Killer beats mixed by Liza DJ from Italy
This set surprises us with The Mighty Heard, formed as a space funk and intergalactic soul band, the group was then joined by vocalist Abdullah Thompson, aka Dullah D, who brought a cool Hip-Hop swagger to the mix. The result was creative bliss and The Mighty Heard took off, playing shows and festivals throughout the Washington.
Also from Washington, the Fort Knox Five. The musical collective releases music through their self-run label, Fort Knox Recordings. Their music style mixes elements of funk, reggae, hip hop and electronica.
Another highlight is The Diplomats of Solid Sound, reviving the lightly funky but deeply soulful instrumental R&B sound of Booker T. & the MG’s and the Meters, the Diplomats of Solid Sound not only prove that there’s still a place for the mighty Hammond…
